The Jacksonville Jaguars fell short yet again on Sunday to the Los Angeles Rams, 37-7. This marks Jacksonville’s fourth straight loss as they fall to 2-10 on the season. The Jags looked just as bad as they have all season on both sides of the ball and could never get anything going. Running back James Robinson was put in timeout yet again after fumbling the ball on the second play of the day. This is two weeks in a row where Robinson was benched for fumbling the ball and he wouldn’t be seen on the field again until the late second quarter. When asked about the benching after the game, Head Coach Urban Meyer said, “I don’t micromanage, so you’ll have to talk to Coach Parmelee about that.”

Which begs the question. . .

What do you do, Coach?

Meyer doesn’t call the plays, that’s the offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and passing game coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. He doesn’t call defensive plays, that’s defensive coordinator Joe Cullen’s job. He doesn’t trade players or sign free agents or pull the trigger on draft picks, that’s general manager Trent Baalke’s job. So, if he’s not deciding personnel or managing who is on the field at a given time, then what is his job?

Meyer’s incompetence as the Jags’ headman has been apparent all season, but perhaps its most glaring point is showing how unprofessional, undisciplined, and unprepared the team is, week in and week out. Now, we see that he isn’t in charge of personnel, so it seems he doesn’t have a role and as the CEO of football operations of an NFL team, that is flat out unacceptable.

It’s time for Mr. Khan to start having some serious thoughts and conversations about the future of this franchise because the current trajectory is leading to this regime ruining one of the best quarterback prospects ever.

The Jaguars visit Nashville next Sunday to face the (8-4) Tennessee Titans in an AFC South divisional matchup. The Jags fell to the Titans in week 5, 37-19 and this game will likely end in a worse fashion.
